I recommend the following books about Alaska:
1. Alaska by James Michener. Definitely worth reading. If you're short of time. you can skip the first few chapters that go back thousands of years ago, and start with the chapter where Europeans first reached the shores of the Aleutians Islands. The book will bring about some romance and drama to your drip, and give youu some historical perspective.
2. Charlie's Chart on Alaska. Many detailed information on anchorages and marinas all the way from Puget Sound to Southeast Alaska.
